Biography

The 24-year-old woman from Gilbert, New Jersey, was an attorney for her daughter, Shannon, who went missing in May 2010. The investigation into Shannon’s disappearance led to the discovery of the remains of 10 murder victims scattered along the Ocean Parkway in New York. Investigators believed that Shannon died of an accidental drowning unrelated to the crimes of the Long Island serial killer, but Gilbert challenged the finding and referred to the case as a murder investigation. Struggled to reopen. An independent autopsy sought by Gilbert’s family found that Shannan may have been strangled to death. Gilbert and his other daughters, Sarah and Shere, often appeared on television shows discussing the matter. .
