Paolo Napoleon James Banchero (born November 12, 2002) is an American-Italian professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association. (NBA). He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils. After his freshman season, Banchero announced for the 2022 NBA Draft, where he was selected by the Orlando Magic with the first overall pick. In 2022, he was named ACC Rookie of the Year.

As for Smith, he’s had some quiet nights – even adding three assists – and some good drives in the basket while playing a solid team defense, matched with the occasional Banchero. Of course, as with all things Summer League, it’s worth noting how quickly fortunes and performances can change (Chet Holmgren, the No. 2 overall pick, can attest). But there is no doubt that Banchero made a positive start in his first Summer League.
