UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers scored eight points against St. John’s on Friday night and scored two rebounds and an assist. He was cleared to play on Thursday after surgery to repair an anterior tibial plateau fracture and lateral meniscus tear in his left knee, which occurred on 13 December.
The Huskies, who defeated the Red Storm 93–38, have won their last six games and sit at 21–5 (15–1 in Big East play) on the season.
The Buyers suffered an injury in Yukon’s December 5 matchup against Notre Dame. With 40 seconds remaining in the game, the team’s 73–54 victory kicked off sophistication after awkwardly planting his left foot while dribbling a basketball. After the game the Buickers were able to stand and walk with assistance.
In his six appearances this season before injury, the Buyers averaged 21.2 points, 6.2 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game for the Huskies.
