Born on May 13, 1989 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, PK. Subban is one of five children of Caribbean immigrants Karl and Maria Subban. His father was the principal of a school. Subban has two brothers, Jordan and Malcolm, and two sisters, Nastassia and Natasha. Both Jordan and Malcolm are professional hockey players.
During his junior career, Subban along with his two brothers played for the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Between 2005 and 2009, he spent four seasons in the OHL. Subban was included in the OHL First All-Star Team in 2009.
