Update
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzy skipped Monday night’s game against the Washington Nationals in the fifth inning, according to the club. It will be a long absence, as the club put him on a 60-day injury list on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old suffered an injury as he was trying to get out of the batsman’s box after swinging.
Albiz scored eight home runs in the session with .246/.288/.408 (90 ops) on Monday. The marks of Albies were below his normal level. A two-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger Award recipient, he hit .277/.329/.492 (109 ops) with 60 home runs between 2019-21.
“I hate it for Ozzy, and I hate it for us,” manager Brian Snitker said via MLB.com. “It’s unfortunate, but it’s one of those things. He’ll be fine. He’s young. He’ll recover quickly, but I hate it for the kid because he loves to play baseball and he’s so much of our club.” big part.”
How long will be out
The defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves will be without Albiz for at least two months.
The Braves placed the All-Star second baseman on a 60-day injured list, a day after he fractured his left leg in Monday’s 9-5 win over the Washington Nationals.
