The Oklahoma Sooners will face the Texas Longhorns in Game 1 of the Women’s College World Series Championship Series at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
OU set the Women’s College World Series record for the biggest margin of victory with a 15–0 victory over UCLA at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium to send the Sooners to a third consecutive WCWS Championship Series.
Best-of-three Championship Series, which begins at 7:30 PM. Wednesday, there will be an all-Big 12 affair.
OU (57-3) will take on Texas, who beat Oklahoma State twice on Monday.
Coaching staff
Romero, Knighton and Aviu were appointed as student assistants for the upcoming season. The trio won two Women’s College World Series in 2016 and 2017 and reached WCWS in 2018 and 2019. All three were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Americans at least once in their careers.
Parker and Arnold also won the WCWS titles in 2017 and 2018. Parker was the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year in all four of her years, and was a three-time NFCA All-American. Arnold won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and 2018.
