The Oregon Ducks are enjoying a second chance against Washington.

Sixth-ranked Oregon clinched a spot in the Pac-12 championship game with a 31-7 victory Friday night over No. 15 Oregon State in the final scheduled matchup between the in-state rivals.

The Ducks (11-1, 8-1 Pac-12, No. 6 CFP) face No. 4 Washington next Friday in Las Vegas in what is the last conference championship before the league’s 10 teams advance to next season. The winner has a chance to earn a spot in the four-team College Football Playoff.
It was Oregon’s sixth consecutive win after a 36–33 loss at Washington on October 14. Next week’s rematch will mark the first meeting between the teams in the Pac-12 title game.

“Obviously that’s what we wanted,” Oregon quarterback Bo Nix said about advancing to the title game, “because of the circumstances, because we lost the first game.”

Nix, the Heisman Trophy favorite, completed 33 of 40 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for another score. Troy Franklin caught nine passes for 128 yards and one score. The speedy Johnson caught 11 passes for 137 yards.

Johnson was asked how much he wanted to face the Huskies again.

Highlights

No. 6 Oregon punched its ticket to the Pac-12 Championship Game with a 31-7 win over rival No. 16 Oregon on Friday in what will be the Ducks’ final regular season game in the Pac-12. This could also be the final game between these longtime in-state rivals.

This was a game that was every bit as lopsided as the score would suggest, and possibly even more so. Oregon set the tone from the start, going 88 yards on a 15-play touchdown drive that lasted 8 minutes and 41 seconds. This was the first of many long, soul-sucking, time-wasting drives made by the Ducks. Oregon had no advantage for its punter until it led 31–7 early in the fourth quarter.

Bo Nix had a stellar performance with 367 yards passing, 31 yards rushing and three total touchdowns. It was the kind of performance that will certainly help his Heisman Trophy candidacy.

In the game, Oregon outgained Oregon State by 273 yards by 480 yards and averaged 7.1 yards per play.
The Ducks had two receivers finish with at least 100 yards receiving. Pace Johnson caught 11 passes for 137 yards and Troy Franklin had nine catches for 128 yards and a touchdown.
This is Oregon’s eighth consecutive win against Oregon State at Autzen Stadium. The last loss was a 38–31 Beavers victory in 2007.
Oregon State finished with only 53 yards rushing as a team, an average of 2.2 yards per carry.
The final Pac-12 championship game will be between Oregon and Washington, both of whom are headed to the Big Ten next season.
Reports surfaced about an hour before kickoff that Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith was expected to take the Michigan State job.
