The Orange Bowl is an annual American College Football Bowl game played in the Miami metropolitan area. It has been played every year since January 1, 1935, making it the second oldest bowl game in the country, along with the Sugar Bowl and the Sun Bowl, behind the Rose Bowl (first played in 1902, played annually since 1916). The Orange Bowl is one of New Year’s Six, the top bowl game for the NCAA Division I Football Bowl subdivision.

Georgia made it through quarter three of their college football playoff semifinal match at the Orange Bowl on Friday to take a 27-3 lead over No. 2 Michigan. Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett has thrown for 280 yards and two touchdowns at No. 1 Alabama after that brutal SEC Championship Game loss. But, as has been the case throughout the year, it is Georgia’s defense that has shone the brightest. That unit kept Wolverine for a total of 206 yards in the first half, including just 58 yards on the ground.

The Georgia Bulldogs got off to a strong start and never looked back on Friday night in their College Football Playoff (CFP) semifinal game against the Michigan Wolverines at the Orange Bowl in Florida.

Georgia took an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter. By halftime the score was 27-3. No. 2 Michigan found no offense when the Bulldogs repeatedly went, and went down the field several times with ease, en route to a 34-11 victory.

The pain in the blue for the men continued into the second half as Georgia’s defense pressed them. A critical rumble derailed another attempt to advance the Wolverines offense.

The biggest drop for the Bulldogs was a missed field target at the end of the third quarter, and that apparently didn’t factor into the result.
