Nigel Graham Pearson (born 21 August 1963) is an English football manager and former professional player, currently the manager of Championship club Bristol City. During his playing career, he was a defender and played for Shrewsbury Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough. As a coach he has held charge of Hull City, Southampton, Carlisle United, Leicester City, Derby County, OH Leuven and Watford; and was assistant manager of England Under-21s and Newcastle United.

Pearson commented as part of Sky Sports’ coverage of darts for more than 15 years after joining in 2006 and was also a veteran speedway presenter and commentator.

An ardent West Brom fan, Pearson has always been known for his love and dedication to the speedway as a presenter, commentator and press officer.
Pearson commented on darts for more than 15 years and worked for a number of organizations, including a columnist at Sky.
Dies at 52
Darts legends have paid tribute to “a great man and commentator” following the death of presenter and journalist Nigel Pearson at the age of 52.
After spending more than a decade covering darts, Pearson was best known for his love of speedway. It was the sport’s UK governing body that announced the news of his death with a statement on social media.
Salary
City suffered a rebuild after a disappointing season, with 13 players, including Senegalese striker Famara Dedhiu, out of contract at the end of the campaign. After Sunday’s loss to Luton, Pearson said: “We need a strong competitive team that has some moral fiber. There is a lot of work to be done on and off the field.”
Pearson’s halt could lead to significant departmental changes. City’s head of performance, Andy Rolls, left on Tuesday after nearly three years in the role. The chief executive, Mark Ashton, who sits on the English Football League board, is leaving for Ipswich at the end of the season.
A confirmation of Pearson’s extension could be announced ahead of City’s game in Millwall on Saturday. Assistant managers Paul Simpson and Keith Downing are set to remain on their staff.
