Nicholas Butt is an English football coach and former player who was most recently head of first team development at Manchester United. He is also the co-owner of Salford City. He played professional football from 1992 to 2011 as a midfielder.

New Challenge
Nicky Butt stepped in as Manchester United’s first team head to pursue a “new professional challenge”.
Butt has spent nine years at the club’s academy in coaching and player development positions, playing a key role in the first team overseeing the progress of Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, Axel Tuonzebe, Dean Henderson and Maison Greenwood.
“We pride ourselves on the role of the staff in giving our young footballers the best chance to fulfill their potential, and the results are clear to see in the increased number of home players reaching the first team.
“I already know from my playing days how difficult it is to leave Manchester United, but it seems like the right moment for a new professional challenge and I look forward to exploring the opportunities that come with those great experiences Are manufactured which I found here.
The manager of Ole Gunnar Solskjör said that the butt was a great source of guidance and inspiration for the players of our academy.
This month United resumed their back room setup, with John Muerto appointed to the new role of football director and former midfielder Darren Fletcher promoted as technical director.
