It would be hard to argue that anyone other than Nick Saban is the best coach in college football.

Saban has been at the helm of the Crimson Tide’s football program since 2007, and has brought the team eight SEC championships, six national championships, and a collective 177–24 record since taking over as head coach.

With all that success, Saban has made a lot of money in his coaching career, and he continues to receive among the highest salaries of anyone in the sport.

Retiring

Opponents have long hoped that Saban could be tempted into the NFL, at Notre Dame, or anywhere other than to live and make his life miserable. They often speculate such views in blogs and bylines but now you can just dismiss such rumours.

While it’s true that Nick Saban has never been in one position for more than five years, he began his fifth year in Tuscaloosa this year. He has had 13 jobs since deciding on this occupation and 13 may be his lucky number for Saban.

Did you catch Saban saying that “we” meant that he and Terry would be ending our coaching careers in Alabama? They are a partnership.
There is no school that can advance Alabama for its services, but Saban insists that money is no longer an issue. Of course, when he is already one of the highest-paid coaches in the country, why should this be the case?

The simple truth is that Saban, the consummate running coach, has finally found a home.

Alabama provides him with not only the financial security he seeks, but an administration dedicated to giving him the best facilities and educational places to sell recruits. It also gives him an ardent fan base that is matched only by his own desire to win.
