Trade Deadline
The 2021 NFL trade deadline officially passed at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday with the final big deal involving the Rams making a move for Broncos pass-rusher Von Miller.
The action had gotten interesting over the past few weeks with some big names exploring new destinations, but Texans quarterback Deshan Watson stayed.
Trading resumed in late September, when the Panthers and Jaguars came together on a deal that sent cornerback CJ Henderson, who was selected by Jacksonville to Carolina in the first round of 2020. The Panthers weren’t even done on the corner. A week later, he acquired Stephen Gilmore from the Patriots. Carolina’s moves were, at least partly, necessary because of injury, as business often is. The Panthers lost their 2021 first round pick, cornerback Jesse Horn, to an arm injury in September.
One of the biggest deals was also set in motion due to injury. The Cardinals lost a tight end for the season against the 49ers on October 10 to Max Williams; Within weeks, he had struck a deal to acquire Zach Ertz from Philadelphia.

Values are determined by expected future performance, future program and public sentiment, not past performance.
The values assigned to the players below are a long-term measure of their notional value. By adding the values of the two players you can determine which player you should get in return. However, fantasy managers must take 20% of the value in any trade where one side has two or more players than the other. And new for this year, some quarterbacks and others only hold valid value in two-QB or PPR leagues (and thus have no value listed in one-QB or non-PPR leagues).

Week 9 Predictions
The NFL trade deadline came and passed on a relatively quiet Tuesday, with some players switching teams. That doesn’t mean there weren’t any big deals, though, especially with the Rams going all-in (again) on Monday by trading for future Hall of Fame pass-rusher Von Miller.
How did the Rams and the Broncos fare in the trade, and who were the biggest winners and losers by the time frame? We tapped our insiders Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler to answer those questions and look forward to Week 9 of the NFL season.
Graziano and Fowler spoke of what’s next for Texans quarterback Deshan Watson and Browns wideout Odell Beckham Jr., who both stayed on Tuesday, and also picked a Super Bowl contender who could do more to improve.
They also haggled for a loaded Week 9 slate, anticipating players to start and sit in fantasy football and emptied their notebooks, over the Texans not clearing their roster, the Nuggets, giving the Giants an ex- Couldn’t find a taker for the rounder and a potential saint to come. Week 9 Picks
As we approach the midpoint of the 2021 NFL season, the underdog and road teams continue to edge against the spread. However, there is an important caveat to consider.
While the favorites this year are just 54-65-3 ATS at home and 31-42 ATS at home, teams with eight or more points are 13-8-1 ATS and 11-5 ATS at home. The games have generally been either extremely close or comically one-sided, with less middle ground than usual.
That’s something to consider as we start November football.
