Player drunk driving:

According to the National Football League (NFL), Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was arrested Tuesday and booked on a charge of DUI resulting in the death of another person.

Later that evening, the Raiders announced that the 22-year-old athlete had been released from the team.

The deadly crash occurred in Las Vegas, Nevada around 3:39 a.m., and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said the deceased victim was a 23-year-old woman.

Waiver order:

The waiver wire is ordered from worst to first. Following the Super Bowl until the day after the third regular season week, the priority order is the same order as the first round of that year’s NFL Draft.

Teams can begin signing their 16-man practice squad after the waiver wire runs. Teams can only sign a player to the practice squad after they have cleared waivers. If Team X does not want to keep Player A on their 53-man roster but does want to sign him to the practice squad, they have to cut him and hope he is not claimed on waivers.

Former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was driving at 156 mph with a blood-alcohol content twice Nevada’s legal limit before his sports car slammed into the rear of a vehicle that burned, killing a 23-year-old woman, prosecutors said Wednesday.

The Raiders released Ruggs late Tuesday, just hours after the crash and shortly after he was released from a hospital and booked into a Las Vegas jail.
