Another week, another NFL milestone for Tom Brady. And, thanks to a generous fanbase, Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a record-setting ball.
With six seconds left in the first quarter of Tampa Bay’s home game against the Chicago Bears, Brady threw his 600th career touchdown pass, a 9-yard strike to Mike Evans. Brady is the only quarterback to reach the milestone in league history.
Evans, perhaps unaware of the historical significance of the touchdown pass, delivered the ball to a fan who was sitting in the front row of the end zone. According to CBS Sports lead field reporter Tracy Wolfson, the fan agreed to return the ball to the Buccaneers in exchange for another game ball as well as a signed jersey.

Brady entered the game with 598 career touchdown passes. His 599th touchdown pass was a 6-yard strike to Chris Godwin, with only five minutes remaining in the first quarter. The Buccaneers, who took a 21-0 lead after the first quarter, began the game with three straight drives that ended in Chicago’s end field.
Brady now has 29 more touchdowns than Drew Brees, who is in second place so far with 571 touchdown passes. Peyton Manning (539) and Brett Favre (508) are the only other quarterbacks with at least 500 career touchdown passes. Aaron Rodgers is currently in fifth place with 427 touchdown passes. The reigning league MVP, Rodgers, threw three touchdown passes during Green Bay’s 24-10 win over Washington on Sunday.

Like most of the population, the NFL power rankings don’t like to admit when we’re wrong. So it was a little hard to pick up on this week’s topic, as we asked our NFL Nation writers to pick an idea about their team this season that didn’t play out the way they expected.
These missed predictions run the gamut, from positive to negative to false ideas about players, position groups and plans. Some players have exceeded expectations (how about wide receiver Christian Kirk and, for that matter, the undefeated Arizona Cardinals?) and some haven’t (will Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr. ever be right?). Didn’t think the Buffalo Bills’ defense would be as good as it was before, we thought the Washington football team’s defense would be much better than its performance, and yes, we thought the Detroit Lions would win by now (though Despite being fair, they have been very close at times). We are usually right, but sometimes, you have to admit something is wrong.
