The fact that Nelly Korda became a successful sportsperson was not surprising to those around her because of her family history. His father, Petr Korda, is a Czech former professional tennis player who won 10 titles during his time on the ATP Tour. He was the champion at the 1998 Australian Open and has a Masters win to his name. Nelly’s mother, Regina Rajchartova, was also a professional tennis player with a career-high ranking of 26.

Nelly’s younger brother, Sebastian Korda, is a tennis professional like his parents and one of the rising stars on the ATP Tour. Her older sister is, of course, LGPA Tour competitor, Jessica Korda, who turned pro in 2010. Nelly and Jessica Korda are one of the most iconic siblings in golf. In October 2018, Jessica and Nelly became only the third sibling pair in LGPA history to win on the tour, following Nelly’s first win on the LGPA Tour.

Nelly has been dating Canadian NHL player Andreas Athanasiou since 2019, who was present when she won her first Major in 2021.

Nelly is the brand ambassador of Titleist and many of their clubs are created by the brand. She’s been using a Callaway GBB Epic driver for a long time but last year she bagged the Titleist TSI1 driver (opens in new tab).

Titleist fitter JJ Van Weizenbeck said of the Switch in a press release; “She loved the shape of the TSi1 and was swinging it very confidently. Initially, we were very close to the TSi2, and she was gaining 5mph extra ball speed. But she had a little bit of a heel miss. The trend is there, and Stephanie Luttrell (Titlelist’s Director of Metalwood Product Development) suggests the TSi1 head – with its CG properties being closer to the center of the face – may help improve strike location and provide the extra forgiving she needs On those swings the TSi1 was never going to be the obvious choice with his 150mph ball speed, but going through the fitting process we were able to test all options and determine the optimal setup that would give him 10-15 with better accuracy. Gaining extra yards.”

Andreas Athanasiou is a Canadian professional ice hockey player, currently playing as center for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on 6 August 1994 and is of Greek and Guyanese ethnicity. At 27, he’s a few years older than Korda, but their common interests probably make up for the difference.
