The 83rd annual edition of the tournament is scheduled to begin on March 15, 2022, and end with the championship game on April 4 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Pending any changes to the format, a total of 68 teams will enter the 2022 tournament therefore 32 automatic bids will be awarded for each of their conference’s tournament winning events. The remaining 36 bids are “at large” with an expanded selection by the NCAA selection committee.
Eight teams (the four lowest seeded automatic qualifiers and the four lowest seeded majors) will play in the first four. The winners of these games advance to the main draw of the tournament. The selection committee will also seed the entire region from 1 to 68.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas will host five post-season tournaments in March. Therefore in the coming months, the city will be a basketball mecca. Therefore early-season tournaments and neutral-site game filling arenas around the city.
T-Mobile Arena, Michelob Ultra Arena, Orleans Arena and South Point Arena will host early-season tournaments, including two tournaments in Orleans on the same day.
The highlight of the schedule will be Thanksgiving weekend as two of the country’s top teams, Duke and Gonzaga, meet at the T-Mobile Arena.

March is here, which means the NCAA basketball tournament is fast approaching, so it’s time to see which teams have the best chances of winning the men’s title.
Not surprisingly, No. 1 Gonzaga leads it all with 400 chances to win. Last year’s runner-up, and took the top spot for good at the start of the week of February 14.
The biggest surprise of the year, the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats, came with a second best odds of 600. Arizona was not ranked in the AP Preseason Rankings, but the team continued to win, starting the season 11–0 and currently sitting at 27–3 to win the Pac-12 regular-season title by defeating USC.

The other No. 1 seeds, Gonzaga, Arizona and Auburn, also lost, although only the three of them changed order. Sometimes when everyone loses, no one loses. The Zags are still No. 1 overall, but the Wildcats fell below the Tigers as they were the only team in the group to lose to a team that did not fight for a spot in the bracket. Arizona lost to Colorado 79–63.
This is the first time that I can remember losing all four of my current No 1 seeds on the same day or in the same weekend. I know this is the first time seven of the AP Top 10 have lost on a single day.
