The National Basketball Association NBA is a professional basketball league in North America. The league is composed of 30 teams and is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. It is the premier men’s professional basketball league in the world.

75 list:
USA TODAY’s list included Tracy McGrady, Dwight Howard, Tony Parker, Vince Carter, Manu Ginobili, Bernard King and Alex English while the NBA’s did not. The NBA’s list included Hal Greer, Jerry Lucas, Bill Sharman, Nate Thurmond, Dave Bing, Billy Cunningham, Lenny Wilkens and Damian Lillard and USA TODAY’s did not.
Interestingly, not one player from the 50 greatest players announced during the 1996-97 season dropped off the list of 75 greatest players revealed by the NBA over the past three days. It was just 26 new names added to the list.
75th anniversary team:
A total of 158 NBA championships and 730 NBA All-Star selections. A combined 110 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Awards and Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP Awards. More than 1.5 million points scored.
Those are just some of the collective accomplishments of the players who comprise the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, which was announced across TNT and ESPN from Oct. 19-21 as the league tipped off its landmark 75th Anniversary Season.
Standings:
There will be several dates on the 2021-22 season schedule featuring classic matchups, including a Nov. 1 contest between the Knicks and Raptors that will take place on the 75th anniversary of the NBA’s first regular-season game. The league will also introduce a special 75th anniversary season logo as well as new Classic and City Edition uniforms.
Hall of Famers Clyde Drexler, Magic Johnson, Bob Pettit and Oscar Robertson as well as 14-time All-Star Dirk Nowitzki will serve as ambassadors throughout the season. They will have a significant presence at league events, including 2022 All-Star weekend in Cleveland.

The three franchises that have played in every NBA season – the Knicks, Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors (who began as the Philadelphia Warriors) – will face each other across three nationally televised games during a five-day stretch in December.
