Nathan Wei Chen (Chinese: ; born May 5, 1999) is an American figure skater who is the 2022 Olympic champion, At the junior level, Chen is the 2015–16 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, the 2013–14 Junior Grand Prix Final bronze medalist and the 2014 World Junior bronze medalist. Chen also helped the US Olympic team win a bronze medal in the 2018 team event and a silver medal in the 2022 team event.

Performance 2022
Nathan Chen earned his Olympic redemption.Four years after a failure in the short program spoiled his gold dreams at the Pyeongchang Olympics, Chen earned his gold medal in the men’s singles free skate on Thursday with a dynamic and memorable performance, in which he compiled a total of 332.60. Won the title with the score. 113.97 in the short program on Wednesday.
With this victory, he became the third American to win gold at the Beijing Olympics.

Unlike the 2018 Winter Games, when he finished fifth overall, he was soaking in the experience of competing in the Olympics, winning or losing.

He was the last skater to perform in the free skate, and the entire Olympic arena took his breath away when he performed for the Elton John medley. Every time he made a quadruple jump, his cheers reverberated. There was applause with every triple jump.

After earning a world record score during the men’s short event, Nathan Chen has his eyes set on gold.Chen posted a quadruple flip, triple axle and quadruple Lutz-triple toe loop combination to create history in Beijing, registering a score of 113.97.He is currently nearly seven points ahead of Japan’s Kagiyama Yuma (108.12). Chen will again take to the ice on Wednesday night for the men’s free skate event. The top 24 skaters in the short program advance to the free skate, where they will compete to be awarded the first individual figure skating medal at the 2022 Olympics.
