The Coca-Cola 600, originally the World 600, is an annual 600-mile NASCAR Cup Series points race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, on a Sunday during Memorial Day weekend. The first race, held in 1960, was also the first one held at the new Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Longest race in history:

Denny Hamlin had not led a lap in the Coca-Cola 600 since the ninth lap of the race. But when the third big crash of the Charlotte race happened just before the white flag in the first overtime, the driver of the No. 11 car raced ahead as the caution came out and took the lead.

Once the smoke had cleared and the cars lined up for the second overtime, the race was down to Hamlin and Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch.

Winner of Charlotte race:

Towards the end of 600 miles, the finish was shaping up to be a race between Kyle Larson and Chase Briscoe, as Briscoe ran down Larson and made several attempts to pass Larson on the inside line.

With two laps to go, Briscoe attempted to put a slidejob on Larson in Turn 1, but the move didn’t stick and Briscoe ended up spinning out to bring out the yellow flag.
