Molly McCann delivers the Knockout of the Year candidate with a spinning back elbow over Luana Carolina during the UFC’s return to London in March. So how will the English woman fare against Hannah Goldie in a sequel in the UK on Saturday?
Even though it wasn’t the highlight reel finish people had seen four months earlier, McCann still beat Goldie to win by TKO of the first round 3:52.
McCann was in control the whole time. He completed Goldie’s takedown efforts and controlled the action on the legs until the end. “Meatball” closed the show by landing a big right arm and a spinning back elbow that stunned Goldie. Then, McCann noticed that Goldie was on trembling legs and went to work. McCann made several shots to bring Goldie down. McCann continued to attack until referee Herb Dean broke it, and the crowd went bananas.
The victory in his home country is McCann’s (13-4) third consecutive victory. She didn’t know what was next but she wanted to enjoy the moment.
