Suspension:

Right now, the most famous nose in New England probably doesn’t feel very good, and unlike Philadelphia’s Italian Stallion, Milan Lucic, Boston’s Canadian Colt, has a nose that has broken at least twice (by our count).

And while Lucic isn’t considered a repeat offender – his last suspension was in early 2019-20, well past the 18 month window for being a repeat offender under the CBA – but Lucic has been suspended twice and fined three times in his NHL career.

Ryan Miller:

The defending-champion Bruins weren’t off to the best start, unevenly playing their way to a 7-7-0 record; Buffalo, on the other hand, was 10-5-0, a point out of first place in the then-Northeast Division and three points out of the lead in the Eastern Conference.

I went to this game, sitting up in the balcony behind the Buffalo net with my friend Bill.

We always made jokes about whether or not a guy was going to run the goalie, mainly because we used to do it in the NHL video games.

Good times back in the mid-2000’s.

Anyways, we saw Milan Lucic chasing down a loose puck and Ryan Miller coming out of the crease, leading my friend to utter the standard “maybe he’ll run the goalie” refrain.

Wife:

m. 2012
Milan Lucic’s wife Brittany Carnegie is a former college soccer player. She recently worked with the MSPCA to help raise funds for local animals in need.

Their last fund-raiser was the 2011 Tour de Pooch and Pals Spin, which took place in various gyms across Massachusetts. She engages in the occasional Twitter strife.

Contract:

Lucic, who is 33 years, is due $9 million dollars over the next two years of his six-year $42 million contract he signed with the Edmonton Oilers prior to the start of the 2016-2017 season.

The Flames cannot realistically buy out Milan Lucic because a significant chunk of his cap hit is based on signing bonuses and Calgary is not subject to relief via buyout.
