Fantasy football is a game of inches and small decisions. Not every decision will be perfect, but some will be memorable. Starting Jets QB Mike White in Week 8 might be one of the best fantasy football decisions you can make. But what about against the Colts this week?
Mike White’s Crazy Road to Fantasy Relevance
Before last week, I only knew Mike White who was the author of “Freaks and Geeks.” I’ll be honest – when I first heard mention of the Jets turning into White in week 7, I assumed he was a rookie I’d never heard of. But alas, I was very wrong.
Believe it or not, White is not a rookie
The Dallas Cowboys drafted White in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft as the eighth QB from the board. He made the team as a third-string QB but was cut just before the 2019 season. The Jets signed him to their practice squad, where he remained largely alive until becoming a backup for QB Zach Wilson this year.
Injury
Mike White’s storybook running as quarterback for the New York Jets was interrupted Thursday night with a first-quarter injury to his right forearm, but the team hopes to recover by next week, according to coach Robert Saleh. To establish a big quarterback decision.
The Jets, who dominated the Indianapolis Colts in a 45–30 defeat at Lucas Oil Stadium, also suffered a crushing injury on defense. The team fears that safety Marcus Mai, one of their top players, tore the Achilles tendon – a season-ending injury.
“I’m sick of him,” Saleh said. “It doesn’t look good.”
Mai tweeted after the game, “Keep it on!”
