Mike Tyson seemed to lose his cool on a plane Wednesday night … after the man repeatedly punched him in the face, angered by the man.

It has learned…the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. PT as Tyson prepared to take a flight from San Francisco International Airport to Florida.

A witness on the plane says that when he and his friend were boarding Tyson’s flight … the boxing legend was initially calm with him and the other passengers.

The witness tells us that Mike took a selfie with her … and then was patient with his overly excited friend, who kept trying to talk to the 55-year-old fighter sitting behind him.

Eventually, though, we were told that there was quite a guy behind Tyson talking in his ear… and told him to calm down. When the boy didn’t, the witness says Tyson began punching the man in the face several times.

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson seems to have joined the ranks of unruly airline passengers.
“Unfortunately, there was an incident involving Mr. Tyson with an aggressive passenger who started harassing him and threw a water bottle at him,” Joan Mignano, a representative for Tyson, said in a statement.

The video, obtained by TMZ Sports, was taken on a JetBlue plane in San Francisco, according to TMZ. It shows a man repeatedly hitting what appears to be another passenger in the seat behind him.
The video published by TMZ does not show the entire incident. The water bottle is not visible in the footage posted by the outlet.
The video of the assault lasts about 10 seconds and contains audio of a man trying to defuse the situation by saying, “Hey Mike, Mike.”
According to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) around 10 p.m. PT on Wednesday, police officers were “sent for a physical altercation on an airplane located at the domestic terminal of San Francisco International Airport.”
