The passing of Mike Tyson’s four-year-old daughter, Exodus, was a terrible and regrettable accident.
According to reports, Exodus Tyson was found at his home in Phoenix, Arizona by his seven-year-old brother with a cable from a treadmill machine tangled around his neck. The young boy alerted his mother, who tried to give Exodus CPR and called 911.
Exodus was immediately taken to the hospital and put on life support. Mike Tyson, who was 42 at the time, was in Las Vegas when the accident happened. On hearing the news, he left for Phoenix.
Exodus Tyson died on 26 May 2009 at 11:45 am.

May 26, 2009 — Exodus Tyson, the 4-year-old daughter of former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, died Monday at a Phoenix hospital in what police called a “tragic accident” on a home treadmill.
Exodus was on life support after accidentally hanging on a rope while hanging from a treadmill in his central Phoenix home. ABC News affiliate KNXV-TV reported, citing the police sergeant, that he died at 11:45 a.m. Andy Hill.
“Somehow, she was playing on this treadmill, and there’s a cord that hangs under the console; it’s kind of a loop,” Hill said. “Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was clearly unable to get herself out of it.”
Brief footage from KNXV-TV showed the former champion arriving at the hospital on Monday in a white button-up shirt and black pants, looking around with a frown before walking in.
Hill said Tyson, 42, was in Las Vegas but flew to Phoenix shortly after learning about the accident.
“The Tyson family would like to extend our deepest and heartfelt thanks to all of your prayers and support, and we wish that we are allowed our privacy during this difficult time,” the boxer said in a statement. “There are no words to describe the sad loss of our beloved Exodus.”
