Helmet
Mike Smith is using his new Edmonton Oilers mask to celebrate the team’s two veterans.
The Oilers goalkeeper unveiled the helmet to be used for the 2020-21 season, and it honors Hall of Fame goalkeeper Grant Fuhr and longtime locker room attendant Joy Moss.
Smith’s mask, which was painted by helmet artist David Arrigo, would pay tribute to the Fuhrer, who led the Oilers to four Stanley Cup titles in the 1980s, by wrapping an image of him around his helmet.
