Questions ask in interview

You are always talking about fighting adversity and coming forward. It was definitely a lot of trouble fighting in today’s game.

MM: You know, it’s an excellent win for us and we knew coming here and competing against Coach Belichick and his team and everything you need to do to win games like this. Maybe that’s fine. We’ve had complimentary victories in my time here. I thought the offense was extremely productive throughout the day, the defense had some great takeaways and the special teams apparently made some big plays in the return game and blocked the punt. I’ve always felt that overtime wins are games you can actually make. We talked aggressively throughout the week, where to play against this defense, your third, fourth, fifth option we have to go big and I think Dak did a great job of delivering the ball today. I think all five receivers, both tight ends, backs, all touched the ball in the passing game and we were able to stay after that in a healthy run game. We knew it would be a challenge and we wanted to be aggressive. That was our mindset coming here. This is a great win for us.

Q: Can you talk more specifically about the post, the game they had and how to manage it after the first half?

MM: Every sport is different; Every stadium is different and I am a big believer in the approach of emphasizing the ups and downs of the game. We had several big penalties and I thought the post did a tremendous job with the speed of operation, really keeping the whole system up and charging, kept playing. It’s a big part of our success, just their approach, their efficiency. Dak can’t say enough about Prescott, the way that ball was being delivered and the calmness and confidence he had in his pocket. I thought the security we had was excellent. We knew it was going to be a dog fight, here’s a big challenge coming, and we really needed.

2-3 New England Patriots may no longer be the gold standard by which all NFL teams compare themselves on the field, but HC Bill Belichick’s level of preparation and in-game adjustments are unmatched. The future Hall of Fame coach has heaped praise on this week’s rival — the Dallas Cowboys, the head of the NFC East — leading up to tomorrow’s kickoff on Friday, giving credit to Mike McCarthy.

While national media debate how good the 4-1 Cowboys are, handing their first loss to the Panthers and blowing up the Eagles and Giants on their three-game home stretch, the Cowboys Nation has questioned McCarthy’s early success. How much credit do you get for .

McCarthy can only focus on the next game, looking to create further distance between his team and the rest of the division in his fifth one-on-one meeting with Belichick tomorrow. Although Belichick said he would not want to play a McCarthy team that “doesn’t beat itself” twice a year, he only lost once to the former Packers head coach.

That same year McCarthy’s Packers would end the Cowboys season at Lambeau on a Dazs Bryant catch—he didn’t, he got the best of Tom Brady and the Patriots at home in Week 13. The 2018 Patriots team that won Super Bowl LIII was the last to face McCarthy, winning 31-17. Only McCarthy’s first loss to the Patriots in his first season as HC was by a worse margin in 2006 when New England won 35–0.
