The Rams have a new roster at Norwell and a new leader at the top. The new head coach comes from Nevada where he reached four bowl games and had an overall record of 33β26 over five seasons. Norwell is a renowned program producer, and he also brings in a lot of talent from his previous stint through the transfer portal. Quarterback Clay Milne is a former four-star prospect, and he is set to take the top spot at Colorado State’s position.
Norwell also brought in Tory Horton and Melquan Stovall from Nevada into wide receiver position, with Horton producing 659 receiving yards and five touchdowns last season, and Stovall adding 56 catches for 643 yards. Colorado State also returns its top two wide receivers from 2021 to Dante Wright and Ty McCulluch, who can be an impressive offensive group from a talent standpoint. The Rams are also facing a Michigan defense that projects to weaken after the loss of three of the top 45 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft on that side of the ball in 2021.

When these schools last met at the 1994 Holiday Bowl Classic, neither player was born on either side. Michigan won as the nine-point favorite, and the mighty Wolverines are the 31-point favorite on Saturday when they host the Rams.
Michigan is loaded and ready to compete for a national title.
The Wolverines returned nine starters from an offense that led the Big Ten in rushing yards (301), sixth in passing yards (3202), third in total yards (443), and who had 36 points per contest last season. I was second in the conference. ,
Michigan planned on senior quarterback Cade McNamara to start, and his 2021 numbers were solid. The senior signal-caller started all 14 competitions last season covering 2576 yards with 15 touchdowns with six interceptions.
Leading receiver Cornelius Johnson (627 yds, 3 TDs) returns, and Michigan should get a boost as senior WR Ronnie Bell banishes all but one plays during the 2021 season.
Bets
After a college football playoff berth and a ton of offseason play around Jim Harbaugh, Michigan opens a new season on Saturday as heavy favorites against Colorado State.
Michigan is bringing back a ton of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, but a ton to convert on the defense. The Wolverines are projected to finish behind Ohio State in the Big Ten East, so their season is likely to come in that final game.
Michigan needs to start things off right and address their quarterback contention in the first two weeks of the season.
The state of Colorado begins a new era under Jay Norwell, who hails from Nevada. Norwell brought a lot of his players from Nevada with him, but it would be a rebuild in Fort Collins.
