The 31-year-old Lorenzen (7-7) struck out five, drove in four runs and improved to 2-0 since he was acquired from Detroit at the trade deadline for a minor leaguer.

The white Vans that Michael Lorenzen wore when he threw a no-hitter in his home debut for the Phillies on Wednesday night is headed to Cooperstown. the only problem? Lorenzen would need another pair.
After completing the 14th no-no in Phillies team history, he said, “I definitely have to get a new pair.” “I mean, they’re my only pair. We need to make another pair ASAP.
Lorenzen is known to be a sneakerhead and has shown off various styles of Vans on the mound before. He had a custom blue and orange tiger-striped pair when he was in Detroit and also had a special pair made for his first career All-Star appearance, matching the colors of the Seattle-inspired jersey.
Cleats
During his days in Detroit, he said he cycled with a pair of Van Kleets, one home and one away, while one pair he only wore for his bullpen sessions.
Lorenzen is an Anaheim native who attended Fullerton Union HS – which, incredibly, has produced four Major League pitchers, all of whom now throw no-hitters (hoffers Walter Johnson, Steve Busby and Mike Warren). is – and was taken in the first round of Cal State Fullerton in 2013. So it’s no surprise that he rocks it with the style of shoe that’s ubiquitous in Southern California.
High School
Lorenzen attended Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, California, where he played for the school’s baseball team. His batting average was above .400 as a freshman. The Tampa Bay Rays selected Lorenzen in the seventh round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. Lorenzen opted not to sign and instead enrolled at California State University, Fullerton to play baseball for the Titans. In 2012, he was named an All-American and a finalist for the John Olerud Award. Lorenzen has also played on the United States national collegiate baseball team. In 2012, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
