Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963), also known by his initials MJ, [9] is an American businessman and former professional basketball player. His biography on the official National Basketball Association (NBA) website states: “By greeting, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.” [5] He was integral in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s,[10] becoming a global cultural icon in the process. [11] Jordan played 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls. What position did play
Michael Jordan played as a shooting guard while playing for the team under coach Dean Smith. His stats were excellent at the time, with an average of 13.4 PPG on 53.4% shooting (field goal percentage).
In the 1982 NCAA Championship Game, he made a decisive jump against rival team Georgetown. The team was headed by Patrick Ewing, who later became his opponent in the NBA. The shot was meant for Jordan as a turning point in his career.
For the next three seasons, he continued to play in the Tar Heels. His performance continued to grow with 17.7ppg on 54.0% shoot and added a 5.0rpg.
Because of that excellent performance, many people paid attention to Michael Jordan. He remained on the NCAA All-American Team of the Year. More impressively, he was in this squad for two consecutive years (1983-1984).
Private jet
Michael Jordan owns a private jet – the Gulfstream G550. The jet was originally in the signature powder blue and white colours. It also had the Jordan logo on its tail. His iconic jersey number and six titles served as the code in “N236MJ”. This can be seen as a fixed effect in the sky.
He later gave it a beautification in true MJ fashion. He changed the colors and designs to fit his style. The Gulfstream G550 now sports an elephant print design. It also resembles the shoes of the famous Jordan brand from Michael. And the code “N236MJ” resides on the jet.
The original cost of the Gulfstream G550 jet is approximately US$61.5 million. And you can easily get an idea of the additional costs for a custom design. It has an inbuilt bar, cigar station and entertainment set. This is all the luxury in the air to make up for his airlessness.

Perhaps the biggest game of Jordan’s career, which was already filled with great games, was Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals. En route to the fifth championship, Jordan scored 38 points for the Chicago Bulls against the Utah Jazz, which was more impressive as he had the flu at the time. However, according to former Chicago Bulls trainer Tim Grover, Jordan didn’t have the flu at all – he was poisoned! While relaxing before the game at a Salt Lake City, Utah, area hotel the night before Game 5, Jordan ordered a late night pizza… and oddly enough, a group of five people delivered it. While it looks like it’s a bunch of people cashing in on the opportunity to meet Michael Jordan, Grover thinks it was a conspiracy among local jazz fans to sideline Jordan. They say the pizza was contaminated with either bad cheese or mold in the crust. (As proof of Grover’s claim, Jordan was the only person in his crew to eat that pizza, and the only person to get sick. He, too, recovered in 48 hours—less than the time it takes to recover from the flu.)
