Safety Micah Hyde (Neck) is being placed on injured reserve on Saturday and will miss the rest of the season, according to Hyde’s agent Jack Bechta, reports NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
The Bills have since announced Hyde’s appointment on the IR.
“Unfortunately, client Micah Hyde will be placed on IR today due to her recent neck injury,” Bechta tweeted Saturday. “Fortunately, we expect a healthy return for No. 23 in 2023.”
Hyde sustained a neck injury during Monday night’s win over the Tennessee Titans, forcing an early exit that didn’t make a comeback. Hyde had already been kicked out for week 3.
Dealing with Hyde’s absence will be a new problem for the Bills defense. The 10-year veteran has only lost two games during his five seasons at Buffalo, and his teaming with Jordan Poore makes for one of the NFL’s best safety tandems.
Neck injury

Jack Bechta said in a tweet that Hyde would be placed on injured reserve as he suffered a neck injury in last Monday’s win against the Titans. Bechta said he expects a healthy return for the 2023 season.
This is a great loss to the buffalo defence. Hyde has been a fixture in secondary during the Bills’ recent success and was a second-team All-Pro in 2021. He made seven tackles in the first two games of the season.
Jacen Johnson is expected to start in place of Hyde against the Dolphins and should line up for an extended run in the lineup. On Sunday, Jordan Poore could also be billed without protection as he is listed as a suspect with a leg injury. Asphalt Hamlin will start in his place.
