The CONCACAF Nations League final is set to kick off at the Empire Field as the United States and Mexico face off in the finals.
It’s been a long few years.
The fateful October 2017 night in Trinidad stands out, when the United States men’s national team was officially eliminated from the World Cup for the first time since we started caring to field a competitive national team, but there have been plenty of other lows.

However, in the 89th minute, Jordan Siebatcheu Pefok scored a beautiful header to finally break the deadlock, and the US held on for the 1-0 win.

United States were deserved winners and champions of the first edition of the CONCACAF Nations League with a goal by Pulisic in extra time and a great penalty kick save by Horvath; Mexico fought until the end but could not get the equalizer.
