What happened to

Max Verstappen was critical of Red Bull’s credibility crisis when his team confirmed that both of his retirements from the season’s inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix were due to suspected fuel pump issues.
World champion Verstappen was second behind race-winner Charles Leclerc when he retired with three laps remaining after losing power, before teammate Sergio Pérez suffered the same fate from third on the final lap.
The failures left Leclerc a one-two Ferrari lead from Carlos Sainz, with Lewis Hamilton taking a surprise podium for off-the-pace Mercedes in fourth, ahead of his new teammate George Russell.
Why did change his number
After securing his first F1 title at last year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, told Verstappen that being able to run No. 1 was just a good opportunity to pass up.
“How many times can you do that?” Verstappen thought soaking up the moment.
“I mean, I don’t know. It’s probably the only time in my life. I think it’s the best number, so I’ll put it on the car!”
In an earlier interview, the Dutchman laughed: “It’s also good for business, so it’s smart to do that.”
