The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Scherzer with the 11th overall pick of the 2006 amateur draft. He made his MLB debut in 2008 with the Diamondbacks. During his five-year tenure in Detroit, Scherzer twice made the American League All-Star team and won the 2013 American League Cy Young Award. Scherzer helped the Tigers win four consecutive American League Central titles from 2011 to 2014.
