Indiana senior Alan Curfalt named Maxpreps/USA Football Player of the Week.

In a 48-12 win over Fountain Central, the senior standout completed 40 of 58 passes for 485 yards and five touchdowns. Karfalt also ran for a score.

For the season, Curfault threw 1,745 yards and 19 touchdowns (against just three interceptions) in just four games, giving Covington a 3–1 record.

Curfalt and the Trojans will next take on Seeger on September 17th.

Lakeville South football coach Ben Burke kept it simple on Friday morning, hours before one of the biggest games on the program.

“I put a note on his locker that said, ‘Do something,'” Burke said.

The top-ranked Cougars responded with a 42-7 takedown of second-ranked Eden Prairie, turning an anticipated Class 6A matchup into a rout. The south side of the crowd approaching 6,000 in Lakeville loved every minute. The players did too.
