Tonight’s UFC 276 event was co-headlined by a featherweight title fight with Alex Volkanowski taking on Max Holloway.

Volkanowski (25-1 MMA) entered the match with 21 consecutive wins, his latest win against Chan Sung Jung (17-7 MMA) at UFC 273 in April this year.

Meanwhile, Max Holloway (23-7 MMA) won his last 2 fights by defeating Yair Rodriguez (13-3 MMA) and Calvin Katar (23-6 MMA) respectively. Prior to those matches, ‘Blessed’ lost by split decision to Volkanowski at UFC 251 and by unanimous decision at UFC 245.

Tonight’s UFC 276 co-main event proved to be a coming-of-age party for Alex Volkanowski. The Australian champion delivered arguably his best performance of all time, presenting ‘Blessed’ with jabs and kicks during the twenty-five minute round. After five rounds of thrilling action, Volkanowski was awarded a flawless victory by the judges present.

Alexander Volkanowski would love to add a second title to his resume as he closed his rivalry against another all-time great featherweight in Max Holloway with a major decision win in the UFC 276 co-main event.

A close fight in the opening round gave way to a one-off performance from Volkanowski with each passing minute, as he was just round after round of punishment, which gave Holloway a bloody mess when the final horn sounded. All the judges fought 50–45, giving Volkanowski a 3–0 lead against Holloway.

With that performance, Volkanowski now looks to the lightweight division as his next stop after potentially sending off Holloway last.
