Ranking in the top 20 for all-time in pass attempts, completions, passing yards and passing touchdowns, Stafford ranks third in all-time passing yards per game and is the fastest NFL player to reach 40,000 passing yards.

Stafford hits receiver Cooper Kupp with a 1-yard touchdown pass, with 1:25 remaining at Sophie Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., to cap a 15-play, 79-yard drive, and the Rams’ (12-5) Dramatic comeback against. The Underdog Bengals (10-7).

They looked alike. Two six-year-old boys, roughly the same size and shape, wear similar “Blue Bombers” uniforms, with sandy blond hair cut in bangs an inch or two above their eyebrows. Parallel success will become a common theme for both boys as they grow up. Before they were Matthew Stafford, starting quarterback for the Detroit Lions and the first overall NFL draft pick, and Clayton Kershaw, a two-time Cy Young Award winner and ace of the Los Angeles Dodgers, were two little boys who played soccer. His mother and father rejoiced and their friends played together.
They played together on the same youth football, baseball, soccer and basketball teams. They played freshmen football and two years of varsity baseball together, and both graduated from Highland Park High School in 2006 after major final seasons. Kershaw set a 13-0 record with an ERA of 0.77. In a five-innings mercy-rule game, he dismissed all 15 batsmen.
On June 18 this season, Kershaw threw a no-hitter and dismissed 15 batters in one of the most impressive performances in baseball history. That game came in the middle of a stretch in which he scored 41 scoreless innings, the sixth longest in baseball’s expansion era.
