In a post retweeted by the official Colts account on Wednesday, Irsay said on the X: ‘I am saddened to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich. Matt only stayed with us for two seasons, but he left his mark on many seasons.

‘Great guy, I heard he was a great dad—and he was a Super Bowl champion. My prayers to his family.

The cause of death has not been stated yet. Ulrich was the father of four children.

He said being a part of a Super Bowl run with the Colts was his proudest moment outside of his family commitments, telling Montana Sports in 2019: ‘One of the best days besides the births of my four kids and my wedding.
