Matthew Thomas Ryan (nicknamed “Mattie Ice”; born May 17, 1985) is an American football quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for Boston College, Ryan was drafted third overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Ryan was Boston College’s starting quarterback from 2005 to 2007, giving him a 25–7 record in three Bowl wins and 32 starts. He threw 200 or more yards 15 times and is third in school history in completing passing yards and passes. He earned the MVP of the Game Honors at the 2005 MPC Computer Bowl.
