Statement
After both were fired by the Chicago Bears on Monday, former GM Ryan Pace and former head coach Matt Nagy issued statements addressing their departure.
Paes was hired as the team’s GM ahead of the 2015 season, and was fired on Monday along with Nagy.

Both men released statements published by the team thanking the organization for the opportunity to work in Chicago.
Pace thanked the McCaskey family, Nagy and the Bears fans for their support over the past seven years.

The Chicago Bears have fired both head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace, the team announced, marking the start of a new era in Chicago.
Nagy ended his Bears career with a 34–33 record, including both Chicago playoff losses. During Paes’ seven-year tenure, the Bears went 48-67 and failed to win a playoff game in two games.
While the firing of Negi was expected, Paes’ future was more up-in-air in the past few weeks. Ultimately, Negi and Paes were each responsible for the downfall of this team. Such is the case with President George McCaskey and President/CEO Ted Phillips.
As you can imagine, Bear fans are feeling like Christmas in January since both Nagy and Pace have been let go, which could be a sign that McCaskey is taking things seriously.
Salary
He played football for his high school team, The Mannheim Central Barons, and was the team’s star quarterback. Matt also played college football for his university, The Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens.
After college, he was invited to try out for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, but in the end, he was not taken.
His career was spent playing in the Arena Football League (AFL), a pro indoor American football league. Debut in 2002 with the New York Dragons, where he played for two years and also did some radio commentary for the team.
In 2004, Negi went on to play for the Carolina Cobras. The following year he went on to play for the Georgia Force and took them to Arenabol XIX where they lost to the Colorado Crush. In 2006, he was traded to Columbus Destroyers.
The following year Matt led his team to ArenaBowl XXI but luck was not on his side again as he was defeated by the San Jose Sabercats. In 2008 he ended his playing career. In all, Nagy played six seasons in the AFL recording passes for 18,866 yards and 374 touchdowns.

Matt played college football for the University of Delaware from 1997 to 2000 as a quarterback. At that time he set several school passing records. He failed to obtain an NFL contract and joined the Arena Football League (AFL), where he spent six seasons playing for the New York Dragons, Carolina Cobras, Georgia Force and Columbus Destroyers. After ending his playing career in 2009, Matt became the assistant coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. After his playing career ended, Matt worked for the home construction company Keystone Custom Homes. He received the position after Steve Saunders introduced him to Keystone executive Larry Wisdom. He left Keystone Custom Homes to join the Eagles on a full-time basis.
