Mark Konkol, who previously worked for the Chicago Sun-Times, reports on Patch.com that the Bears have informed coach Matt Nagy that he will be fired after Thursday’s game in Detroit.
“The top source with knowledge of the decision” told Konkel that Negi was informed of his impending fate on Monday. Konkol doesn’t cover the bear, but there’s no hesitation or similarity to his report.
As noted by Konkle, the Bears have never fired a coach during the season. (Of course, the owner was the coach for four separate 10-year terms.)
Bear has not yet responded to a request for comment from PFT.

A Tuesday morning report said the Bears have told Matt Nagy that he would be fired after the Bears’ Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions. According to Mark Konkol from Patch, Bear told Nagy that he would be fired on Monday.
The Bears have never fired a coach in the middle of the season before.
