Matt Kuchar 2024: What happened to| Earnings| Results
Matthew Gregory Kuchar (born June 21, 1978) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and formerly the Nationwide Tour. He has won nine times on the PGA Tour. Kuchar enjoyed brief success in the early 2000s, but struggled to maintain his playing status on the PGA Tour before facing a recession. He rejuvenated himself and created a new, one-plane swing from 2008, which gave better results. Kuchar was the PGA Tour’s leading money winner in 2010.
What happened to
Matt Kuchar was in a hurry. And then he wasn’t.
While Aaron Rae will leave Sedgefield Country Club with a trophy after Sunday’s marathon at the Windham Championships, Kutcher will be the only player in the field to hang on for another day. With daylight rapidly diminishing, Kuchar decided not to play his second shot on his 72nd hole, moving into the final threesome but out of contention at a 10-way tie at the 12th.
As television cameras showed Rai signing his scorecard to finalize his first PGA Tour victory, he immediately cut to Kuchar marking his ball in the left rough, 212 yards from the hole. Then CBS on-course reporter Dottie Pepper relayed a message from PGA Tour rules official Ken Tackett.
“Matt Kuchar has said he will not play any more golf today,” the paper said.
CBS analyst Trevor Immelman then questioned the decision, as the horn had not been sounded for darkness. However, another rules official, Orlando Pope, informed the broadcast team that sunset had set and instead of blowing the horn, he opted to tell only Kuchar and the other two players in the final group, Max Gresserman and Chad Ramey.
