Marquise Brown: Injury| Shoul i drop| Arrested| Stats

Coach Cliff Kingsbury said on Wednesday that Cardinals wide receiver Marquis Brown will miss at least a month with a left foot injury.

Beyond that his status is still unknown. Kingsbury said the Cardinals would reevaluate Brown, adding that the Browns are out “indefinitely”.

Brown, who injured his leg after losing to the Seahawks on Sunday, went in for a second opinion this week. He said in the locker room after the game that the initial X-rays were “good”.

On Wednesday Kingsbury said he did not know what the official diagnosis was for Brown’s injury after a second opinion.

The Browns have 43 catches for 485 yards and three touchdowns in six games with Arizona, where he was traded on the first day of the NFL Draft in late April.

With Brown’s dismissal, the Cardinals will have two new faces in the passing game.

On Monday, a day after Brown’s injury, the Cardinals were traded for former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson with the idea that he would fill Brown’s role.

In addition to adding Anderson to the offense, the Cardinals also welcomed wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins this week. He was suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquis Brown (leg) MRI results on Monday showed his leg injury is not as bad as the team had initially feared. According to a source, he is dealing with a small, non-surgical-fracture, and will take about six weeks to recover. Brown will seek a second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson before proceeding. Barring a change in forecast, he should land on injured reserve, but return later this season. Fantasy managers need to keep Brown out of hiding everywhere, though there will be plenty of competition for Target this week with the return of DeAndre Hopkins and the acquisition of Robbie Anderson following Brown’s return. In his first year at Arizona through six games in 2022, Brown caught 43 of his 64 goals for 485 yards and three touchdowns as the team’s top wideout.

Marquis “Hollywood” Brown still has legal matters to deal with after his arrest for speeding on Loop 101 in North Phoenix two weeks ago.

But the Arizona Cardinals’ wide receiver can now focus more on football, as he is attending more team drills and building his on-field rapport with quarterback Kyler Murray.

Brown is unlikely to play against his former team the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night in the Cardinals’ second preseason game. He is scheduled to appear in his next court appearance next Tuesday morning to deal with the criminal speeding charge, the day the Cardinals are due to depart for practice and a preseason game with the Tennessee Titans.

Brown said, “Just learn from it, you know, I’m not the guy to get into trouble. So I’ll keep it in my past and make sure I’m always doing the right thing at the right time.”

He was asked why he was traveling at 126 mph, according to a court document, in the 65 mph zone. Brown would not give details, but he said he was not late for practice that day, August 3.

Brown said, “Very disappointed. I mean, I have a lot of kids who look up to me. So I want to set the right example all the time.”

Brown opened training camp on the non-football injury list with a minor hamstring problem, and was activated for practice the day before his arrest. He was released from prison the same day he was arrested, and reported to the camp the next day.
