Combine
Marquez Valdes-Scantling signs a new deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Green Bay Packers will be in the market for a new vertical threat.
It was clear the Packers had missed out on Valeds-scantling pace and big-playing ability this past season. Due to injuries, the man they called MVS played in just seven matches. With an average of 20.9 yards per catch removed in a year, the Packers missed out on the world-class pace that helped open things up for their teammates.
Luckily for Packers general manager Brian Gutkunst, there are plenty of speed merchants in the 2022 NFL Draft who can help replace the former fifth-round pick in Green Bay’s offense.
Pierce is going to make life as a vertical threat. With his quickness (4.41), he can beat the cornerbacks at the top. He does a great job of high-pointing the ball once the ball is in the air and has excellent body control.
Pierce has the athleticism, size, hands and big-playing ability that teams love. He also brings it up as a run blocker, something he will endear to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur.
High school
Valdes-Scantling attended and played in high school football at Lakewood High School.[2] He recorded 50 receptions for 800 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns as a senior.
