Injury

As manager Bob Melvin said Thursday it is “probably a stretch right now” that the team would be able to activate outfielder Mark Canha from the injured list before the All-Star Break.

Canha was placed on the 10-day IL with a left hip strain last week. He received platelet-rich plasma injections in both hips this week, Melvin said, and is likely to rejoin the team Friday.

Mark Canha

Canha has been out since June 24th with his hip injury, but is obviously now on the verge of returning. He’s having a fine season, slashing .255/.375/.450 with 11 home runs and seven steals, and should go back to his everyday role batting atop the A’s lineup after he is reinstated.

Net Worth

Mark Canha has an estimated net worth of over $1 million as of January 11, 2019, which is similar to Zach Eflin. Further, the MLB player has an average salary of $2,050,000.

Canha missed just over three weeks while battling tendinitis and a left hip strain. The outfielder hit in his usual leadoff spot Saturday, although it may take him some time to get comfortable at the plate after not going on a rehab assignment. The 32-year-old has a .255/.376/.447 slash line with 11 home runs, 33 RBI, 55 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 329 plate appearances this year.
