After missing 58 basketball games, Markiff Morris finally returned to the sport he loved. It was a long and grueling process for the Morris brothers, but Marcus is happy to have his brother back on the court.

In an interview with Fox Sports’ Melissa Rohlin, Marcus finally opened up about his brother’s injury that was sustained by Nikola Jokic. It took 124 days for the marquis to finally clear what felt like an eternity of uncertainty.

“It’s a tough shot for anyone, for any player,” Marcus told Fox Sports. “And as if my brother was strong enough to be able to take it, thank God he didn’t end his career. It could have been worse. Just to say, if he couldn’t come back, like, So what? Thank goodness that if it weren’t for that, it would have been a real, real big problem.”

As the situation escalated, the Jokic brothers also joined in. It was a moment Marcus felt it was disrespectful, noting that none of them really understood basketball’s perspective. Most importantly though, after all the smack talk, Markif was cleared to play again.

Twin brother

Marcus was reunited with his twin brother when the Rockets dealt him with the Sons on a trade deadline in 2013. The pair became the first pair of twin brothers to debut for the same franchise in less than a month. His career took a turn for the better in 2013-14 as the Suns won 48 games.

The twin brothers signed a first of its kind contract with Phoenix Suns in 2014 – both for $52 million. It would have been at least $20 million less if they had tested the market and signed individual contracts. But money was not the most important thing in their mind as they wanted to make a career together.

However, things got worse after the 2014-15 season. Sun owner Robert Sarver wished to pursue LaMarcus Aldridge as a free agent. To clear his pay bill, he dispatches Marcus, Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger to the Pistons. The move came as a cropper as they failed to take down Aldridge and instead drew flak from NBA players.
