While the two were playing for the Tennessee Titans, Logan Ryan, a former teammate of Mariota’s, posted photos of the newlywed couple and ceremony on his Instagram account. Ryan, who now plays for the New York Giants, wrote a short note to the couple.

After two years as Derek Carr’s backup in Las Vegas, Mariotta was signed by the Falcons shortly after the team traded longtime starter Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts. The move reunites Mariota with Falcons coach Arthur Smith, who previously worked with Mariota during his time with the Titans. Mariota said the opportunity to work with Smith was a big factor in his decision to sign with Atalanta.

The 28-year-old quarterback was an immediate starter for the Titans, making him the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. His career started off well, as he threw four touchdowns in his first regular season game, a resounding victory over the Buccaneers. Despite injuries, 38 sacks in 12 games and a 3–9 record as a starter, Mariota’s rookie season was largely successful, as he threw 19 touchdowns (with two touchdown runs) against 10 interceptions. .
Mariota’s development was evident before his rookie and second season. In 15 games, he threw 26 touchdowns against nine interceptions, while he took 15 fewer sacks than a rookie. He also holds an 8-7 record as the Titans’ starting quarterback.
After that things started taking a turn. Mariota won his first playoff game in 2017, but he also threw more interceptions than touchdown passes that season. He had another up and down season in 2018 and was replaced by Ryan Tanhill six games in the 2019 season.
