Arrested
Braves outfielder Marcel Ozuna was arrested Friday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Ozuna spoke to reporters for 18 seconds before the game against the Houston Astros. He made a statement, but did not take any questions.
“I let my team down,” he said. “I let my family down. I have nothing more to say. It’s a legal matter.”
This was the second arrest for Ozuna in as many years. He was arrested on May 29, 2021, on charges of aggravated assault by strangulation and battery, after police officers said they saw him attack his wife. Those charges were dropped after completing a pretrial diversion program.
Ozuna was arrested by a Norcross police officer in metro Atlanta and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail around 4:30 p.m. Friday. He was charged with a DUI and failure to maintain lane and was released on $1,830 bond.
Net Worth
Ozuna signed a one-year contract with the Atlantis Braves worth $18 million. Ozuna was the opening outfielder to debut for the Braves in 2020. He became the first National League player to score three home runs in a single game at Fenway Park.

New police video shows Ozuna telling a cop he celebrated the Braves’ big win at the Mets Thursday night with a few beers, before he was arrested for a DUI on Friday morning.
In the footage, you can clearly hear Ozuna telling an officer, “We won today and we just kind of celebrated.” However, he also added that he thought he was perfectly fine to drive.
Arrest
Atlanta Braves outfielder and designated hitter Marcel Ozuna was arrested and charged Friday morning with failure to maintain his travel lane and driving under the influence.
He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail and released on bond.
On Friday, the Norcross Police Department released body camera footage of the arrest, in which Ozuna was pulled over for speeding and failing to maintain his lane.
In the video, Ozuna can be heard telling the officer that he is “Ozuna from the Brave” as he hands over his driving license and MLB ID card to the officer.
After exiting his vehicle, Ozuna told the officer he was fine to drive and was celebrating after the Braves won a game.
After initially telling the officer that he was not drinking, Ozuna admitted that he had “three, four” beers and that he was good to drive as he was leaving for an after-party.
