Facing his first chance to perform in front of NFL scouts, Malik Willis took full advantage during Thursday’s scouting combination and put all his attention on his arm. The former Liberty signal-caller made several standout throws that set himself apart from other QBs.

Despite being known as a double-threat quarterback, Willis was among several quarterbacks who opted not to run the 40-yard dash because only eight QBs completed the drill.

During the throwing practice, it was remarkable how the ball came out of Willis’ hand. His throwing motion seemed natural and effortless.

But it was the deep ball where Willis impressed the most. He threw a couple points with his combination of strength and touch, which garnered huge reactions from fans in attendance.

Tennessee Titans 2022 third-round pick and quarterback Malik Willis got his first taste of the NFL on Thursday night in the preseason opener against the Baltimore Ravens.

Willis played the full first half, completing 6 of 11 passes for 107 yards, while also adding five carries and a touchdown for 38 yards. He came for two plays in the second half before being relieved by fellow backup Logan Woodside, but not before another impressive scuffle.

Willis’ night was not without a few hiccups, as he missed a few throws, nearly tossed a pick-six, and held the ball too long on a few occasions.

That said, it was overall a good night for the rookie. He saw both the athleticism and arm strength we heard about when he came out of college, and most importantly, he looked like he was.

Check out some of the best plays from Willis’s presidency debut, including a pair of impressive scrambles, a deep ball to wide receiver Recy McMath, and a sick sidearm from his body to complete a pass to tight Tommy Hudson Throw was included.
