San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner will not send the bat she used to score two home runs to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Opening Day.

According to Andrew Baggerley of the San Jose Mercury News, Bumgarner would keep the bat he clubbed Homers with and offer his helmet to the Hall of Fame as a consolation prize.

The Bumgarner had an opening day to remember against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Four-time All-Star became the first pitcher in MLB history to hit two homers on Opening Day and scored 11 runs in seven innings. It’s obviously very special, an opportunity to do this and for it to happen, but my job is to do that,” Bumgarner said after the Giants’ 6-5 loss, according to the Associated Press (via ESPN.com). The place is where I am concerned.”
