Training camp is only a week away from the start for most NFL teams. After a brief break, the football game is back in the fan’s consciousness. if it ever really went away. And with that comes preparation for the latest Madden video game. But this year’s game, which will release on August 19, is a little different.
Leaks
There have been some leaks, like Trent Williams joining the 99 OVR club via Twitter.
Plus, it looks like Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Donald, TJ Watt and Cooper Kupp have joined Trent Williams at the 99 Club as well via @MaddenLeaks.
Madden NFL 23 player ratings are always highly debated. It is not an exact science – for example, certain individual characteristics are scaled down to keep the overall rating down and vice versa. The first rating that was issued was something of a paradigm shift: the 49ers dropped the tackle. Trent Williams was the first member of the 99 overall club, as it was revealed on June 1 of this year. Williams is the first offensive lineman to join the club 99 overall in the game.
Joining him and making his second 99 appearance at the club is widely Davante Adams, as revealed on 18 July. There should be others joining them as well – and a fair amount of debate and discussion this week around ratings and more.
Release
ESPN will air all of this week’s Madden content on four different shows, including Get Up, First Take, SportsCenter, and NFL Live.
The get-up will take place at 8 a.m. and will unveil one of the top four players in the game. First Take will air at 10 a.m. ET and will feature a debate about players. SportsCenter will take place at noon ET and will reveal the top 10 players per position group. And finally, NFL Live will air at 3 PM. Break down ET and everything we need to know.
In addition, the half-hour special will break the ratings even further, and will air on Saturday, July 23 at 9 PM. ET.
